Fame at last for Nicholas

I've entered many many competitions over the years and have won a few every now and again, but nothing as major as the competition that I entered Nicholas in that he amazingly won!

The chance to be a FA Champions League mascot for the recent Chelsea vs. Galatasaray match on Tuesday was just what the football crazy boy got to do.
Nicholas left school a little early Tuesday afternoon and caught the train up to London with Lee, arriving at Stamford Bridge in in plenty of time..
Lee then left him with the chaperones and took his seat in the stadium..
When the time came, all 22 boys escorted out the two teams - Nicholas being second from left - escort to Yekta Kurtulus - Galatasaray's defensive midfielder!
Not only was it shown on ITV - Way to go Greg for getting the pic from the TV...
Photo: We saw him.... :-)
But Nicholas was also the star of page 3 in out local paper today!
Photo: page 3 of today's Echo newspaper!!!!!
An amazing experience for him - one that I'm sure he'll never forget!

Scrap Around the World Moodboard

Scrap Around the World have a PINK theme Moodboard this month and I just LOVE the colour pink.
My inspiration from the board was the fact that after having two boys and there being lots of blue around, it just had to all be about the colour pink when Cassandra arrived:
You can still enter this challenge until 31st March 2014 here: Scrap around the world

Show Us Your Stuff Challenge

I've got a thing about colours at the mo. and over on "Show us Your Stuff" they have Moodboard challenge going on this month - green being their chosen colour..
inspo board
I'm not a huge fan of the colour green, but I found these photos of the kids fitted really well and I'm quite pleased with my resulting double page layout.  My required "handmade" embelli is the bunting in the top left hand corner and the pink heart in the centre tied with string.  Please feel free to click on the actual photo below to take a closer look.
You have until end of the month to enter, so plenty of time if you want to:

Happy birthday to me....!

It comes round so fast - another year older..

Couldn't quite top last years' bash, so this year, I opted for a lovely bacon sarnie in bed courtesy of Lee and the kids with some amazing gifts.  Then it was time to go over and support Nicholas in his football match - whilst being very excited when he came on and scored a goal for the team!
Mum came over when we got back and after the smelly two boys got showered, we went for dinner to "The Lodge" in South Woodham Ferrers" - a really nice place with a small play area outside for the kids which they enjoyed what with it being the best sunny day of the year so far!

Alexander managed to get hold of my camera and the budding photographer managed to snap this one of me by the pond... he's getting better!
Then it was on to Riverside Ice and Leisure for a session of real iceskating.  Everyone (including Lee) did brilliantly and considering the kids had never skated on ice before, only came home with a few bruises!

Thank you for all my cards, 8 vases full of flowers and gifts.  It was a good birthday.

Reception Sports Festival

I was thrilled when Cassie was chosen out of 90 Reception children at Blenheim to represent the school as one of 15, in the Reception Sports Festival at Garrons last week.
All the kids took turns in their different races and they all did brilliantly, Blenheim coming in 3rd out of 12 schools!
Cassandra sat with her friend Scarlett from her class
And she raced a few times with her friend Olivia Prescott.

Although not there officially, just to watch the kids, I ended up keeping some of the girls amused - how many can you fit on two knees? Olivia, Cassandra and Ruby!
